Application Process

The Process:
- Tour the School – please call (410)705-0778 x 3 or email [email protected] to schedule your tour.
- Schedule a Shadow Visit (applicable only to 1st grade through 7th grade applicants). During this visit, your child will be assessed for reading. Applicants to the 1st -3rd grade will be assessed for math. Applicants to the 4th -7th grade who are accepted and enroll, will be asked to schedule a time with the Admissions Office to take a math placement test towards the end of the current school year. Typically Math Placement tests for rising 4th -7th grade should be taken at the beginning of May.
- Complete and Submit Online Application by clicking on the “Apply Now” portal above. This will redirect you to TADS. Please ensure that you select the correct Academic Year (Applications for the next Academic school year will open on November 1st of the current school year.). Click on “Click here to apply”. Select “Create a new account” and begin your application for the correct Academic Year. Please note that there is a $100 non-refundable application fee.
- If you would like to be considered for Financial Aid, you may begin and complete the Financial Aid application through the TADS account you will create to submit your application to the school. Please note, Financial Aid applications for the next academic year will open on November 1st and must be completed by March 1st to be eligible for consideration.
- In addition to the online application, we require submission of the following documents in order to consider an application complete for review. These documents can be directly uploaded to your child’s application in TADS or they may be emailed to the Admissions Office at [email protected].
- A copy of your child’s Baptismal Certificate (if Catholic)
- A copy of your child’s Birth Certificate
- Copies of your child’s last two Report Cards (this only applies to Kindergarten applicants if they are currently enrolled in a preschool). You may find the Records Release form, which may be completed and submitted to your child’s current school to request report cards and all applicable records, for download here: Records Release Form.
- A Writing Sample – handwritten (not applicable for Kindergarten applicants)
- For rising 1st grade applicants, please ask the student to copy out in his own handwriting the following sentence: I am made to be a Saint!
- For rising 2nd grade applicants, please submit one complete handwritten sentence of the student’s own composition on his or her favorite activity.
- For rising 3rd grade applicants, please submit 2-3 complete handwritten sentences – in cursive if possible – of the student’s own composition on his or her favorite activity or book.
- For rising 4th grade applicants, please submit a handwritten paragraph - in cursive, if possible – of the student’s own composition with a distinct topic sentence and at least four supporting details on his or her favorite activity or book.
- For rising 5th -8th grade applicants, please submit the student’s handwritten responses – in cursive, if possible – of the student’s own composition using complete sentences to the Student Questionnaire. You may find the Student Questionnaire for download here.
- A copy of any special service plans or diagnosis that may impact your child’s learning (if applicable).
- A copy of Custody Orders (if applicable).
- Schedule a Family Meeting during which parents will meet with the Admissions Committee (this typically lasts 30 minutes and is often scheduled after drop off or before pick up on your child’s shadow visit day).
- For Kindergarten Applicants Only, all applicants to the Kindergarten class will receive an invitation to sign up for one of the sessions of the Kindergarten Readiness Assessment. Please note, Kindergarten Applicants must turn 5 years old by September 1st of the Academic year they are applying for.
Decisions for the upcoming school year will begin to go out in mid-January. If your child is accepted, an email notifying you of that acceptance will prompt you to begin the enrollment process.
After enrollment is opened in mid-January, we will have rolling admissions and acceptance subject to space available.

Referrals
We offer a $500 discount off of tuition for a referral of our school which results in a family enrolling their children at Divine Mercy Academy.
Volunteer Hours
All families are required to provide 25 hours of volunteer time over the course of the year. This will be tracked by the school.

Tuition Payment Policies
Tuition may be paid annually, semi-annually, on a 10 or 12-month pay schedule (June-May).
